Monsoon to remain active for two-three days

KATHMANDU : Heavy rainfall has been expected at some places on Wednesday due to the impact of monsoon wind.

According to Meteorologist Sabina Shakya, heavy rain with thunder and lightning is likely at one or two places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati Province, Gandaki Province and Lumbini Province today as the monsoon trough draws closer to Nepal’s southern plains.

The Meteorological Forecasting  Division says monsoon is to become active for the next two-three days, bringing light to moderate rainfall at many places of the country and heavy rain along with thunder and lightning at one or two places.

The Division has predicted the risk of landslides in hilly regions due to rain and the risk of floods and seasonal floods as well, stating that the disaster might have its implications on the transport sector.

According to the latest weather bulletin, the minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley was measured 19.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum 29.6 degrees Celsius. Similarly, Jumla recorded the lowest 15.2 degrees Celsius today while Dipayal Silgadhi reported the highest 34.5 degrees Celsius.
