by .Kathmandu : The Nepal Airlines Corporation has started selling tickets for Kathmandu-Delhi flights that will begin this Thursday after a gap of nine months.
The flights between capitals of Nepal and India were suspended since both the countries went on lockdown to control the coronavirus spread in March this year. Now, the neighbouring governments have agreed to resume limited flights so as to ease the movement of people stranded in other countries and other trade activities.
Nepal’s national flag carrier is operating one flight from Kathmandu to New Delhi and back to Kathmandu every day as per the Indian government’s air bubble scheme. Likewise, Air India will also operate one flight on the route, but it is yet to announce a date for the resumption of the flights.
Initially, the corporation is using a narrow-body aircraft for the flights. A wide-body aircraft can be mobilised after considering the number of passengers, a corporation official says.
