by .KATHMANDU: Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has urged District Administration Offices (DAOs) of 20 districts across the country to further tighten enforcement of ongoing prohibitory orders in view of rising cases of COVID-19.
Issuing a statement on Monday, the MoHP expressed its serious concern over the rising defiance of the orders by people even as there are fears that the second wave of COVID-19 could cause a huge loss of life. “Despite prohibitory order, the movement of people has reduced by only 59 percent,” reads the statement issued by the ministry.
According to the ministry, the DAOs of Kathmandu, Rupandehi, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Morang, Kailali, Kaski, Banke, Dang, Chitwan, Surkhet, Jhapa and Kanchanpur are required to further tighten enforcement of prohibitory orders and put extra efforts to control the pandemic. Similarly, local administrations in Makwanpur, Dhanusha, Kavre, Sunsari, Parsa, Bardiya and Palpa are also urged to effectively enforce prohibitory orders to help contain the spread of COVID-19.
