B & C to import world class equipment for Cancer Treatment

by .Birtamode; B & C Hospital has got the approval from the Department of Quality Control and Regulation under Health and Population Ministry to import world-class logistics for cancer treatment. The administration has also informed that the imported equipment are based on latest technologies.
‘B & C is currently constructing a separate cancer hospital with the name of Purwanchal Cancer Hospital Pvt.Ltd. and 80% of the construction work has been completed so far’, said Durga Prasai, the CEO of B & C Hospital.
He also said that the hospital is expected to run in full-fledged from the February 2019. ‘Our aim behind this is to give benefits for the patients of east who go to long distance for cancer treatment. Not only that, we will also provide quality treatment with specialized doctors’, Prasai added.
According to Cancer Specialist Dr. Birendra Yadav the hospital has imported Linear Accelerators, Brachy Therapy, Mammography, C-Arm, Gama Camera, Pet/CT Scan and alike. Dr. Yadav also claimed that Pet/CT Scan and Gama Camera are arriving for the first time in Nepal. B & C has spent five hundred million for these two equipment added Dr. Yadav.
These equipment are expected to arrive within a couple of months after the completion of buying process. ‘We are totally committed to build a well equipped hospital’, said CEO Durga Prasai. The senior doctor at the hospital Dr. Umesh Sharma said that in his 25 years of career he has seen a lot of patients confused about treatment but he is convinced that B & C has latest equipment after he saw same equipment in hospitals of the USA during his journey there.
According to the report of Health Ministry, every year 30,000 cancer patients add up. So the hospital is expected to target the increasing number of cancer patients in the eastern part of Nepal.
