Court orders to record statements of medical examiner and Sahab Alam in Sandeep Lamichhane case

by .Kathmandu : The Kathmandu District Court has issued an order to record statements of two more people in connection with the case of cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, who has been accused of raping a minor.
During Sunday’s hearing, a single bench of Kathmandu District Court Judge Shankar Raj Baral ordered the police to record the statements of two people.
The court has ordered to take the statement of Sandeep’s fellow cricketer Sahab Alam and the medical examiner of the complainant. Lamichhane’s lawyer, Murari Sapkota, filed an application stating that since the two witnesses do not have affidavits, so their statements need to be recorded.
According to the request of Lamichhane’s lawyers, the court has ordered to take the statements of the two people.
Today’s hearing is over. The next hearing has not been scheduled yet.
On September 6, a teenage girl filed a complaint against Lamichhane, who is also the former captain of the national cricket team, at the Gaushala police circle, accusing him of raping her.
