KATHMANDU: Buddha Air, a private sector air service provider, has introduced a new aircraft in its fleet. The company took delivery of the 15th ATR-72 aircraft on Friday.

According to Dipendra Kumar Karna, information officer of Buddha Air, the new aircraft will start commercial flights within a month after completing necessary paperwork. A statement issued by the company mentioned that the 72-seater aircraft has been brought in as the operation cost will be reduced when flying from a larger aircraft and the fare will automatically be cheaper.

Along with this, 15 ATR aircraft of Buddha Air have arrived. Among these are 12 ATR-72 and three ATR-42 aircraft. The two Beechcraft previously owned by Buddha Airlines were sold to a Canadian company.

After the addition of the new aircraft, the company plans to add one flight to Dhangadhi and Surkhet destinations, which currently have two daily flights. Similarly, there are preparations to take off from ATR-72 aircraft at Tumlingtar in Sankhuwasabha. The company said that it will soon bring another new aircraft as well.
