NAC to operate flights to Sydney from June 21

by .KATHMANDU : The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation, has secured slots at Sydney airport of Australia.
Sydney airport has given permission and slots to NAC for two flights in a week—Thursday and Saturday. After receiving the permission for the flights from Sydney airport, the NAC has submitted necessary documents for flight permission with Australian Civil Aviation Authority.
Assistant Spokesperson of NAC, Ganesh Kumar Ghimire, said NAC will operate flights to Sydney with a ‘technical landing’ in Singapore for the time being. “Necessary process targeting to operate flights from June 21 has been forwarded”, he mentioned. The NAC has started the process of selecting a company for aviation fuel in Singapore and Sydney and has already selected an MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) company for Singapore and Sydney airports.
Preparation has been made to operate direct flight to Sydney of Australia with wide-body Airbus ‘A’ 330, according to the NAC.
Similarly, NAC is operating regular flights to Gautam Buddha International Airport from Malaysia from June 12. The promotional airfare from Malaysia to Gautam Buddha International Airport is only Rs 11,461.
“We have provided tickets for Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu in a very cheap price”, added Ghimire. Likewise, the airfare for Malaysia-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu has been fixed at Rs 12,346.
