Maoist decides to quit Koshi province govt, recall ministers today

by .BIRATNAGAR: The ruling CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to withdraw its support to the Koshi province government.
On Tuesday, A office bearers’ meeting of the Maoist Center’s Provincial Committee and the party’s Koshi province parliamentary party decided to withdraw the support given to the UML-led government.
According to Maoist Center Province Assembly member Ganesh Upreti, the meeting of the provincial parliamentary party decided to withdraw the support given to the government led by Hikmat Kumar Karki as per the instruction given by the party committee. The meeting decided to recall the ministers from the government on Tuesday itself.
Upreti said that the decision made by the parliamentary party meeting will be informed in the provincial assembly meeting on Tuesday. Earlier, the meeting of the Maoist Center Parliamentary Party held on Monday had formed a committee under the leadership of the leader of the parliamentary party Indra Bahadur Angbo to take the initiative for the formation of government under the leadership of the Maoists. After the Maoist Center withdrew its support, the Koshi province government fell into a minority.
