PM Oli presenting himself before Supreme Court today to furnish response in writing

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is presenting himself before the Supreme Court on Thursday in a contempt of court case.

Subash Nembang, a leader of the ruling Nepal Communist Party who is close to Oli, said that PM Oli will appear before the court today to furnish his response in writing.

On January 28, a single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma ordered Prime Minister Oli to present himself before the court to furnish his response in writing to the case of contempt of court filed against him within seven days excluding travel time.

Two separate cases of contempt of court were filed against Oli at the court on January 26.

Senior advocate Dr Kumar Sharma Acharya and advocate Kanchan Krishna Neupane filed two separate contempt of court cases against the prime minister for his ‘demeaning’ remarks against senior-most advocate Krishna Prasad Bhandari.
