CPN (MC) holds talks with JSP over forming new govt

by .KATHMANDU: Leaders of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist Center) and Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) discussed the formation of a new coalition government.
During their meeting held at Parisdanda, the CPN (MC)’s headquarters, on Wednesday, Chairman of the CPN (MC), Pushpa Kamal Dahal urged the JSP leaders to stand together for the formation of a new government by forming an alliance.
However, the JSP leaders said that they can join hands with the CPN (MC) to form the new government if their demands including the constitution amendment are met.
The Dahal-led CPN (MC) has intensified efforts to form the new government after the Supreme Court scrapped the Nepal Communist Party jointly led by KP Sharma Oli and Dahal himself.
Leaders Mahantha Thakur and Rajendra Mahato attended the meeting on behalf of JSP while Chairman Dahal and party leader Narayan Kaji Shrestha represented the CPN (MC) in the meeting.
