1 dead, 1 hurt as motorbike hits parked truck in Chitwan

BHAKTAPUR: A person died and another sustained critical injury after the motorcycle they were riding and hit a stationary truck in Bharatpur Metropolis-1 of Chitwan district last night.

The decreased has been identified as pillion rider Saroj Bhujel (16) of Pokhara Metropolis-3 in Kaski district and the injured as Maheswor Kandel (41) of Devghat Rural Municipality in Tanahun district.

According to Chitwan District Police Office, the accident took place when a motorcycle (Na 20 Pa 7518) heading to Muglin from Narayangadh hit a stationary truck (Na 6 Kha 5729) at Ramnagar on Sunday night.

Critically injured Bhujel died during the course of treatment at Chitwan Medical College while Kandel is undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Meanwhile, the investigation into the incident is underway, police informed.
