Khalti agreed to digital payments for ICFC customers

by .Kathmandu : ICFC Finance Limited has signed an agreement with Khalti Digital Wallet to facilitate its internet and mobile banking customers for digital payments. Mr. Sanjay Thapaliya – Head GSD and HR ICFC Finance Limited. and Amit Agrawal – Director of Khalti signed a partnership agreement amidst a ceremony organized at the bank’s head office in Bhatbhateni Kathmandu.
With this partnership, ICFC Finance Limited customers across the nation can now load funds in their Khalti wallet using the bank’s mobile banking, internet banking service, and bank direct and make all kinds of digital payments available at Khalti’s platform. ICFC Finance believes that the customers of the bank will benefit from this kind of cooperation.
This partnership is expected to further help in the adoption of digital payments in Nepal ultimately moving the country towards a cashless economy.
According to the agreement, the bank will provide Khalti Digital Wallet with a Virtual Machine Operating System through which the customers can load Khalti using the online and offline mediums. ICFC Finance users can load funds in Khalti through different mediums such as Bank Binding/Linking, E-banking, Mobile Banking, Bank Smart, Banking Checkout, which will provide ‘Load Khalti’ service.
Started in January 2017, Khalti is an emerging mobile payment solution in Nepal. It provides various utility bill payment services, mobile recharge, DTH recharge, domestic flight booking, movie ticketing, event ticketing, hotel booking, newspaper subscriptions, and payments at online shopping sites among various other digital payments services. Khalti is a licensed Payment Service Provider from Nepal Rastra Bank. Currently, more than a million people regularly use Khalti for various bill payments services.
