Dahal heads to Delhi for one-day visit

Kathmandu; Nepal Communist Party Co-chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is leaving for New Delhi on Friday to participate in a conference organised by India Foundation.

Dahal will inaugurate the fifth India Ideas Conclave in the Indian capital and deliver a key note speech on ‘Citizen’s Manifesto: Churn of Ideas’ at the event, according to his private secretariat.

With the new communist party holding a series of meetings to cement the merger process and structure the party, Dahal will spare limited time in Delhi, an aide to the NCP leader said, adding that he will return Kathmandu on Friday night itself.

This is Dahal’s second visit to New Delhi in a month. He had visited India on the second week of September and held talks with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Raj Nath Singh and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, among others.

India’s federal Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs Arun Jaitely; Union Minister for Commerce, Industry and Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu; Deputy Chairman of Rajya Sabha Harivansh Narayan Singh Suresh Bhaiyyaji Joshi are among the speakers at the two-day event.
